A storm with strong winds downed power lines in parts of Wichita Tuesday afternoon. The storm also caused a tree to fall on a home in the Wichita Riverside neighborhood.
It happened in the 1200 block of N. Forest. The Wichita Fire Department assisted a man who was trapped on the second floor get out safely without injury.
A fire spokesperson said the tree prevented a door on a second-floor apartment not to open. Crews used a ladder and helped the man get to the ground.
Two additional homes in the neighborhood lost power due to downed power lines, which also caused a small fire that was quickly extinguished.
