The call came in around 10:45 p.m., to a building fire in the 3600 block of North Ridge Road. Firefighters arriving on the scene found heavy flames coming from the front and roof of the one-story commercial building and requested a second alarm.

During the blaze the roof collapsed, which injured one firefighter who was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries. A custodian was working in the building when the fire started but made it out safely.

Crews were able to extinguish most of the fire early on, but remained on the scene Sunday morning to put out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and a damage estimate is not yet available.
