One man is dead after storms rolled through the area during the weekend, especially late Saturday night into early Sunday..

The National Weather Service surveyed damage east of I-135 and 125th Street North, right along the Sedgwick/Harvey County line.

The storm has been rated as an EF2 tornado.

The tornado touched down at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday, about five miles east of the town of Sedgwick in Sedgwick County.

The twister traveled 0.11 miles for about two minutes. It was about 50 yards wide, with peak wind speeds of 135 miles per hour. It took an hour for officials to be notified that something had even happened.

Most of the damage was to a double-wide manufactured home bolted to a poured basement foundation; the tornado left one man dead.

Debris from the home and two outbuildings was blown several miles away, to the northeast.
