Early Wednesday evening, Wichita police were called to a crash in the 5900 block of S. Seneca, where they located a collision involving a bicycle and a sedan.
A man was driving south-bound on Seneca, when he struck a bicyclist in the road.
The rider of the bicycle has been identified as 71-year-old Michael Espinoza; he was transported by EMS to a hospital where he later died.
This was the fourth fatal traffic accident worked by Wichita police in the month of January.
Investigators from the Wichita Police Department Accident Follow-up Section and the Critical Accident Team responded to the case; all involved parties remained on the scene and have been cooperative with the investigation.
