Sedgwick County health officials have lowered the age of those eligible to get the COVID vaccination. County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the "openings" for 80 and above have been trending downward, so it's time to expand the eligibilty.
Meitzner says there is good news about the county's rate of positive test results, now around 7 percent. It was over 20% a few weeks ago, and the rate has been "steadily coming down".
Meitzner also says Wichita's hospitals are seeing encouraging numbers of COVID patients being treated.
Meitzner commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
