Voters in Jackson County Missouri on Tuesday, turned down a ballot issue that would have extended a 3/8 cent sales tax to fund stadiums for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
Had the measure passed, it would have raised nearly $1.7 billion over 40-years, provided funding for building a new stadium for the Royals, and renovations for the Chief's Arrowhead Stadium.
With 100% of the precincts reporting the vote was over 30,000 no votes, with 22,000 yes votes.
