County Commission Chairman David Dennis responded by saying he was disappointed that hospital officials never came to the commission about their concerns over EMS and their services. He adds that the change is already having an adverse impact, as a number of county employees have been hired by the new provider.
The county is working with the city of Wichita to review contracts that are currently in place and Dennis hopes to have better clarity about the situation next week.
