The Wichita Fire Department has identified the husband and wife who died after being found unresponsive at the scene of a house fire in southwest Wichita Monday night.
Edward and Susan Perry, both 61, were found after firefighters responded to the blaze in the 9800 block of West Savannah Street, in a neighborhood near Pawnee and Maize Road.
Wichita Fire Chief Tammy Snow said a neighbor called 911 shortly after 9:30 p.m. to report the fire. When firefighters arrived, they found two homes engulfed in flames.
The fire destroyed both homes. The Perrys were found unresponsive at the scene and later died.
As of Wednesday afternoon, fire officials had not publicly confirmed what caused the fire. The investigation remains ongoing. Updates on KNSS Radio.
