AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc. has announced the relocation of its global headquarters from Wichita to Allen, Texas, in the north-northeast part of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex.
AgEagle provides advanced drone and aerial imaging solutions, delivering flight hardware, sensors and software; the company is looking to expand in the growing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone) industry.
The publicly-traded drone company also recently rebranded. AgEagle, founded in 2010 in Neodesha in the southeastern part of Kansas, is now known as EagleNXT. Based primarily on agriculture in its early years, the company has added a new strategies in the defense sector. The company has been developing a defense drone for about three years, CEO Bill Irby told the Wichita Business Journal.
AgEagle moved to Wichita in 2020. Although company headquarters have been located in the northeast part of Wichita, east of Rock Road & Highway K-96, EagleNXT designs and builds its drones in Switzerland.
The new headquarters in Texas will serve as the central hub for EagleNXT's operations; initiatives are already underway to set up production lines at the facility in Allen for manufacturing.
