A Wichita car dealership has been ordered to stop selling cars in the state of Kansas.
A default judgment was entered against Carnation and its owner, Kayode Ajibolade, for selling cars with blown airbags.
One person who parched a vehicle, found an airbag simulator device that disabled the airbag light on the dash. A total of 12 additional cars with blown airbags were sold in the first quarter of 2023 without telling the consumers.
Carnation entered a prior consent judgment in 2019, admitting to failing to disclose a blown airbag.
In the current case, the Court ordered Carnation to pay $2,000 per car in restitution, as well as $390,000 in civil penalties, court costs and investigation fees.
