At Tuesday's meeting the Wichita City Council is expected to approve the sale of the Wichita Wind Surge baseball team to Diamond Baseball Holdings LLC. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News "this group is a billion-dollar organization that has done some amazing things with different teams throughout the country". Whipple says the new owners are expected to bring more events to Riverfront Stadium, beyond just baseball games.
The mayor says the council will also look at making some changes to the city's budget, including increased pay for firefighters.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
