At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will hear a request from Safe Streets Wichita for just over $4,000 to buy Narcan overdose treatment kits. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the money will come from an opioid settlement. He says a previous grant of $20,000 saved 233 lives. Narcan is an inhaling emergency treatment for fentanyl overdoses.
The Council will also look at revisions to the City's second-hand dealers' ordinance. Whipple says the rapidly-changing economy calls for accurate definitions of what a second-hand dealer is.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
