The Wichita City Council is set to take a final vote Tuesday on a new non-discrimination ordinance. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the proposed ordinance has brought a lot of response from citizens ... some with fears that they'll lose religious freedom. But Whipple insists state law exempts religius organizations. The mayor says the city needs the ordinance to keep up with other cities when it comes to filling jobs.
