Wichita City Council will look at water and sewer rates

At a work shop meeting Tuesday, the Wichita City Council will look at water and sewer rates for the year ahead. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the new water plant will be operational by the end of December, after a delay caused by technical problems.

Council will get an update on Animal Services. Mayor Wu says the animal shelter receives hundreds of dogs and cats a month.

The City of Wichita has received more than a 100 applications to fill the City Manager position, which opens as current City Manager Bob Layton retires at the end of the year. Mayor Wu says the City Council will receive a list of applicants who quality for in-person interviews.
