Wichita Police responded to an injury accident with trapped individuals at about 2:30 Saturday afternoon. When they arrived they found two vehicles that were involved with one of them on it's top.
The investigation revealed that 32 year-old Michael Walker of Wichita crossed the centerline of westbound Pawnee and collided with a car driven by a 66 year-old woman, causing it to roll over.
Walker and a passenger received minor injuries. The three occupants of the other vehicle were removed by Wichita firefighters and transported to a local hospital.
The driver had serious injuries. Hawkins and a 77 year-old man were critical. Hawkins died of her injuries at the hospital.
Walker was arrested for two counts of aggravated battery, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and driving left of center.
The investigation is continuing and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County DA's office.
