Wichita Festivals, Inc. is searching for a new CEO/President.
The board of directors announced the plan Friday afternoon to rebuild and reorganize its staff, after the organization was hit hard in the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
WFI says the cancellation and modification of their two signature events, the Wichita River Festival and Autumn & Art, significantly impacted the organization's revenue opportunities and resulted in significant income loss. The group was forced to furlough employees and eliminate several staff positions, including that of CEO/President.
Ann Keefer had served as interim CEO/President after former CEO/President Ty Tabing was let go in September 2020 after less than a year on the job.
The 2020 Wichita River Festival was cancelled for the first time in the event's 48-year history due to health restrictions.
The 50th Anniversary of Wichita Riverfest is scheduled for June 3-11, 2022.
