
A Wichita firefighter was injured while responding to a house fire in west Wichita. It happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday night in the 4300 block of west Douglas.
A fire spokesperson said the firefighter, a 25 year veteran with the department, went down while inside the house. Crewmembers were able to pull him out and perform CPR.
The firefighter was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
UPDATE: In the last hour, the Wichita Fire Department released a statement on Twitter saying: "Our firefighter is in serious condition but has stabilized. He is undergoing further evaluation. Thank you again to our very supportive community for your thoughts, prayers and concern."
