A bomb threat called into the Hutchinson Regional Airport was traced back to a Wichita boy.
The juvenile called in a threat just before 11 p.m. Thursday, saying there was a bomb attached to an airplane at the airport. Hutchinson PD officers responded to the reported threat a little after 8 a.m. Friday. Police determined that the threat wasn’t credible but not before the airport went on lock down, restricting flights in and out of the facility.
With the assistance of Wichita Police, the juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Reno County Youth Shelter. Charges of aggravated criminal threat were referred to the Reno County District Attorney’s Office.
