The Wichita Police Department, (WPD), arrested Alexis Flores, 24, of Wichita for auto theft, hit and run, drive under the influence, drive with a suspended driver's license, and an active warrant.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., on Sunday, a WPD Officer was contacted by a citizen at the Quik Trip located at Murdock and Broadway. While the officer was contacting the reporting party, Flores entered the patrol vehicle and drove to the 1000 block of South Topeka, where Flores struck a citizen's parked vehicle causing heavy damage to both vehicles. WPD officer's located Flores at the scene, who was taken into custody without incident.
The incident is under investigation, as well as the officers' actions.
