Wichita man charged in murder of woman in vehicle

A Wichita man has been charged with murder, after allegedly running down and killing a woman in her vehicle.

Daryon Boone, 19, made his first appearance Monday and was charged with in the death of Norma Williams, 69.

He was charged with first degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm.

Police allege that Boone was part of a group of motorcycle riders that took over the intersection of Kellogg and Greenwich on September 1, at around 10:00 p.m.

One of the bikers, who ran a red light, hit a pickup truck with Williams and her husband who was driving.

As they attempted to drive away, police allege that Boone and another biker followed the couple, and that Boone fired into the truck, fatally injuring Willems.

Boone is out of jail on a $500,000 bond, and is required to have electronic monitoring.

His next court appearance was scheduled for October 2.
