The Wichita Police Department is investigating a vehicle submersion in the Arkansas River that occurred in the 2300 block of S. McLean Blvd.

Before 9:30 a.m. Thursday, officers located 58-year-old Christopher Cotter in the Lexus unconscious; he was hospitalized in extremely critical condition, and later died.
The investigation revealed Cotter was driving east-bound on Pawnee when he had a medical emergency, and the car crashed into the river.
