A Wichita man is dead after a pursuit and crash on the Kansas Turnpike Saturday evening.
The crash happened around 10:15 p.m., in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 123.2 in Lyon County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, troopers were pursuing a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Adonis Dailey of Wichita. Dailey's vehicle struck the rear of a semi-trailer then struck the median barrier wall multiple times.
Dailey suffered serious injuries but a passenger, 27-year-old Kejuan Shugart of Wichita, died.
The semi-driver, 61-year-old Gabino Garcia of Magnolia, NC, was uninjured.
