
Police have arrested a 22-year-old Wichita man on a charge of Second-Degree Murder stemming from a domestic violence incident that fatally injured a 19-year-old Wichita woman.
Just after 11 a.m. Saturday, 911 dispatch received a call from a 911 operator in North Carolina saying a family member of the suspect called to report a possible homicide in Wichita.
Officers were dispatched to two different locations: the 3900 block of E. 17th Street N. and the 7600 block of E. 21st Street N.
When the officers arrived at the 21st Street address, they found the suspect, Alexander Lewis, and located the woman in the trunk of his vehicle. Life-saving measures were performed but she was later pronounced dead by EMS.
Police identified the victim as Zaiylah Bronson. Police are still trying to determine what led up to the fatal incident.
