Another shooting in Wichita's Old Town early Sunday, even as police were patrolling the area. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the cops are doing an "amazing" job in responding to crime, in the 90 percentile when it comes to "closing violent crime cases this year". Whipple says since he's been mayor the City has increased spending on law enforcement by some $30 million.
Whipple says the City is working hard to hire and retain more officers, making it easier for police from other communities to come to work in Wichita.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
