Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay has applied for the chief's job in Austin, Texas. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News "he's one of the best in the country. He's one of the folks that other cities would want" because of "the work he's done.
The Wichita City Council is considering an anti-discrimination ordinance. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News it's at least partly a question of economics, that the top 100 companies on the Fortune 500 list all have policies in place. Whipple says 20 other cities in Kansas have anti-discrimination ordinances.
