Wichita Mayor Lily Wu the King holiday has a special meaning for her

Wu says Dr. Martin Luther King Junior represents someone "that loves his community and wanted to serve," had a dream and continues "to push us to do better." Wu says she is spending this holiday "reflecting on a day of service".

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will revisit the new campaign finance ordinance that passed January second, banning contributions from corporations and LLCs. Mayor Wu says she wants to hear from citizens on this issue and others. She encourages citizens to attend all city council meetings.


Wichita's new downtown parking plan will allow people to pay for a space with currency, or by cell phone. Mayor Wu says when she goes downtown, she's getting used to using her cell phone app to pay for parking.
