Some local Kansas governments are operating with 10% of their positions unfilled, making it hard to deliver the services that citizens expect. Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the "now Hiring" sign is out in the city, as the city raises wages and offers good benefits for post-andemic hiring.
At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider funding a study of local work and the workforce. Mayor Whipple says "the work force is changing" and opportunitirs for jobs are "tough to predict today" , and we want to know what jobs in the future will look like.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
