A disagreement between a Wichita city council member and a Wichita state represented led to a heated argument that injured another state lawmaker who attempted to break it up.
During an informal gathering at a pub in Topeka, Wednesday evening, Wichita City Council member Brandon Johnson and Kansas Representative Ford Carr got into a heated exchange.
The argument seems to stem over a disagreement relating to the timing of money approved for the testing of residents affected by possible condemnation in the area of 29th and Grove.
A video shows County Commissioner Mike Hoheisel, Ryan Baty, and Representative Henry Helgerson attempting to keep Carr and Johnson apart. It also shows Carr pushing Helgerson, who fell into a table.
The incident is under investigation.
