Wichita Police announce arrest in latest shooting

Wichita Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection to a shooting of another 15-year-old Wichita boy.

It happened around 9:10 p.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of South Everett. Officers located a 15-year-old victim with two gunshot wounds to his abdominal area. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim underwent surgery and is in stable condition.

Police say the suspect shot the victim while a crime was taking place. Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
