A man was fatally shot by law enforcement. It began just after 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the 6900 block of Childs - just north of 45th and Ridge, outside of the city limits.
Sedgwick County 911 received a call from a man who said that he was armed and was going to shoot people.
Law Enforcement from multiple agencies responded to this call and contacted the man who has been identified as Jonathan Macias, 27, of Sedgwick County.
After approximately one hour of attempting negotiations with Mr. Macias, there was an officer involved shooting involving officers and deputies from multiple police agencies. Mr. Macias was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident by Sedgwick County EMS.

• Park City Police Department
• Valley Center Police Department
• Colwich Police Department
• Kansas Highway Patrol
The Advanced Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) was activated by Sheriff Jeff Easter to investigate the shooting, and the Wichita Police Department is the lead investigative agency for this incident.
