The Wichita Board of Education voted to extend the contract for Superintendent, to Kelly Bielefeld. The vote was the next step in replacing outgoing Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson who is retiring at the end of the school year.
The unanimous vote comes following negotiations with Bielefeld and his attorney over the contract. Bielefeld will be stepping down as Executive Director of College and Career Readiness for the Wichita Public Schools, and plans to take over his new position in July.
