A suspect is under arrest in Springfield, Missouri, in connection with a homicide investigation here in Wichita. Just after 8 a.m. Monday, dispatchers in Sedgwick County sent WPD officers to the 900 block of East Indianapolis for a wellness check on a man found lying down. The officers found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, officers from WPD utilized crime scene investigators, K9 officers, and Flock camera technology to identify a potential suspect. 27-year-old Donny J. Harris of Springfield, Missouri was arrested by police in Springfield Monday evening. Harris is facing charges for first-degree murder.
