Wichita water projects moving forward

Lily Wu
KNSS NEWS

Last week city leaders broke ground for a new, $357 million waste water treatment plant in south Wichita. Meanwhile, the new water facility in northwest Wichita is on schedule and on budget, says Mayor Lily Wu. These are the two biggest infrastructure projects in the city's history. Wu says the new plant on Zoo Boulevard will furnish water for 500,000 people, about 17% of the state's population.

At Tuesday's workshop, the city council will discuss a pickleball complex, economic development program incentives and guidelines, and the budget. Mayor Wu says the City is facing some important budget decisions in the next two years, and the council needs public input.

Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
