A woman from Wichita is dead after a Christmas day crash five miles west of Larned. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, weather conditions were a factor. 86-year-old Evelyn Reece of Wichita was killed in the crash. 27-year-old Brayden Smith of Larned was taken to a Wichita hospital with possibly-serious injuries. Two people suffered minor injuries.
The KHP reports that just after 5 p.m. Christmas Day, a pickup driven by Smith went out of control on snow and ice. The truck crashed head-on with a car containing four people.
