Wichita's new watering plan starts this week

Wichita's new permanent watering plan goes into effect today. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News watering is not permitted on Mondays. She says if your address ends in an odd number you will water on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Even numbers water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. No watering is permitted between 10 am and 6 pm, peak evaporation time.

At Tuesday's meeting the Wichita City Council will begin work on a new parks and recreation master plan. Mayor Wu tells says a consltant has been hired and it's time to go to work. She says it will likely take a year to get the plan completed.

And the search is underway for a new Wichita City Manager. Robert Layton is retiring after 16 years in the job. You can fill out a survey on what you would like see in a new city manager at wichita.gov/managersearch.
