A pedestrian was fatally injured in a traffic accident Thursday morning at the intersection of Central and West Street.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:00 a.m. and found Angela Carrillo, 48, from Wichita with serious head injuries after being struck by a tan Lincoln MKX.
She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Police determined the victim was crossing West Street on foot, moving from east to west along Central, when the collision occurred.
The driver of the Lincoln, 74, remained at the scene
and cooperated with investigators. The Wichita Police Department’s Critical Accident Team continues to investigate this incident and is interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
