One woman was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a home in northeast Wichita Saturday night.
Wichita fire crews responded around 7 p.m. to the home in the 1100 block of N. Piatt. When they arrived, fire was seen throughout the residence and there was concern that someone was trapped. Crews brought the blaze under control within 40 minutes.
We later learned there were 3 women inside the home when the fire started. One woman was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation while the other two were OK.
The fire caused about $70 thousand in damage to the home. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
