The Wichita Police Department. (WPD), is investigating a traffic collision that fatally injured a woman, 53.
It happened Monday night at around 7:00 p.m. Officers responded to a traffic accident in the 4400 block of N. Meridian. Officers arrived and located the woman who sustained injuries from being struck by a red Ford Explorer.
She was transported to an area hospital where medical staff pronounced them deceased.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the Ford Explorer was traveling south on Meridian and struck the woman who was walking her bicycle.
This case is still under investigation and Detectives are still actively working on this case. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Detectives at 316-350-3686.
This is the 18th Fatality collision for the year.
