The Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas and Intrust Bank Arena are hosting the Get Hired Job Fair Thursday, August 12, at Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman. Get Hired is an annual event connecting employers with highly-qualified Veterans, Active Duty, Guard & Reserve and their families seeking employment opportunities in South Central Kansas. The general public is also invited to this event though, as a small token of appreciation for their service, the first 30 minutes are reserved for Veterans, Active Duty, Guard & Reserve and their families.
The Job Fair is free to attend and will be open from 2:00 – 6:00 pm:
2:00 – 2:30 pm, reserved for Veterans, Active Duty Military personnel, and their spouses
2:30 – 6:00 pm, job fair open to the general public
Free parking is available in all Intrust Bank Arena designated lots. Registration for job seekers is required and can be done in advance or at the door on the day of the event. Masks will be required at the job fair.
“This event is the region’s premier job fair with a focus on connecting military talent and skilled workers to employers,” said Keith Lawing, president and CEO of Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas. “We are pleased to partner with Intrust Bank Arena, event sponsors, and attending employers to help bridge the gap from employers seeking talented job seekers, and certainly placing a special focus on those that have served our country.”
The Get Hired Job Fair will feature nearly 70 employers. Job seekers should bring a current resume and be prepared to visit with employers on the spot. The event is sponsored by the Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas, Intrust Bank Arena, Dondlinger Construction, HM Dunn AeroSystems, Leading Technology Composites, Textron Aviation, and XLT Ovens. The KANSASWORKS Mobile Center will be onsite with resources available to assist job seekers with applications, resume preparation, or mock interviews.
The Workforce Center is also partnering with Sedgwick County Health Department to offer onsite COVID vaccinations during the job fair.
