On July 6, officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 7000 block of E. Lincoln. Officers found a man at the location with a gunshot wound, and the victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Kelly Black, was pronounced dead a short time later.
The WPD released a statement today announcing that after a short standoff, the Hutchinson Police Department took a 31-year-old man into custody. He was booked into jail for an Arrest & Detain Warrant on charges of Second Degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
