The Wichita Police Department is investigating after a crash that fatally injured a Haysville woman. According to the WPD, the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Seneca early Sunday.
On arrival WPD officers located 18-year-old Madison Dahl and a 19-year-old male in a white Pontiac G6 that had collided with a tree. Dahl was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by Wichita Fire Department personnel and transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The 19-year-old male was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed Dahl was traveling Northbound on Seneca from Harry and lost control shortly after crossing the railroad tracks and collided with a tree. This is Wichita's fifth traffic fatality in 2023.
