WPD investigating south Wichita shooting

Wichita Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday morning in the 1300 block of S. Topeka.

Around 8:40 a.m., a 62-year-old Wichita man arrived at Fire Station #2 with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police quickly located the suspect nearby, a 43-year-old Wichita man, as he attempted to flee on a bicycle. He was taken into custody and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.

Police say the suspect and victim were involved in an argument over property when the shooting occurred.
