Wreck caused by a speeding van leaves two people dead south of Wichita

Two people have died in a crash south of Wichita.

It happened shortly before 10 a.m., to the east of 63rd Street South & Seneca.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses say a van was going west-bound on 63rd at about 100 miles per hour; the speed limit there is 45 m.p.h.

The van came across the center-line, went airborne over the train tracks, and hit an on-coming car near Southern Street; the van also hit a pickup truck.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s died; the driver of the car was also killed, a woman in her 70s.
