In a scene straight out of "Breaking Bad," a possible biological laboratory was found at a home in Las Vegas -- and it was full of refrigerators containing unknown liquids with ominous names.
ABC News reported that investigators responded to the home Saturday on reports of a code violation, and when they got there they found mysterious liquids in vials.
Vials with blood, tissue, bodily fluid samples, unlabeled fluids, and pathogen-labeled were in containers with names like "dengue fever," "HIV," and "malaria." The LLC tied to the home matches the name of a company involved in a federal case in California related to a biological laboratory, and the owner of the property, ABC reported, is a Chinese national who was arrested and charged in 2023 and is currently in jail.
The same man is associated with The Reedley Biolab in California, an illegal lab that had "allegedly been receiving money from Chinese banks and was housing thousands of samples of potential pathogens," ABC reported.
The suspect associated with the California lab pleaded not guilty in the 2023, and reports say law enforcement has not yet determined what the recovered materials in Las Vegas are or whether they pose a danger.
Samples from the Las Vegas lab will be sent to the FBI for testing.
