It’s time to start dreaming again, as the Mega Millions jackpot has soared to an estimated $977 million after no winning tickets were sold in Tuesday’s drawing.

The winning numbers sold on Tuesday were 24, 46, 49, 62, and 66, with a Mega Ball of 7.

Tuesday marked the 29th drawing without a winner, with the last instant millionaire being made on Dec. 8, 2023, by the lottery.

The next drawing for the lottery is Friday, and if someone is able to match all six numbers, they will have a choice of annual payments over 30 years or a lump-sum payment of around $461 million in cash before taxes.

$1 billion lottery jackpots have grown increasingly more common in recent years, with this marking only the sixth time in the game’s history that it’s gone as high as $977 million, Mega Millions officials shared.

The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever was a $1.6 billion prize sold last August to a lucky player in Neptune, Florida.

For those looking to spread their chances of winning, the Powerball is also nearing staggering heights once again, reaching an estimated $687 million ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing.

As for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, players will know whether or not they can buy that new car at 11 p.m. EST when the drawing occurs.

But keep in mind, the odds of winning are 1 in 302,575,350.
