Authorities in Massachusetts continue to search this week for a man suspected of killing his wife leaving their four children to seek help from neighbors, according to a press release from Massachusetts State Police and media reports.

In the release, police revealed that 33-year-old Aaron Pennington’s BMW was located in a wooded area in Gardner, Mass.

“After a perimeter was established around the car, the Massachusetts State Police Special Tactical Operations (STOP) Team determined that the car was unoccupied,” police said. “After clearing the car, STOP Troopers, MSP K9 Unit teams and the MSP Air Wing conducted a search of the surrounding wooded area and did not locate,” the suspect.

Breanne Pennington, 30, was murdered Sunday morning at the family’s home on Cherry Street in Gardner. According to documents cited by CBS News, the couple’s four children went to a neighbor’s home seeking help because they couldn’t find their father and their mother was crying.

“The documents revealed that when police got to the Pennington's home, they found Breanne Pennington had died after being shot in the face,” said the report. “The Department of Children and Families is now taking care of the couple’s children.”

These documents also indicated that the husband and wife had trouble in their marriage for some time and that Breanne planned to move to Texas with their children.

Police believe that Pennington may be armed and dangerous. He is described as a 6’2” tall white man with blonde hair and blue eyes, weighing approximately 175 pounds. Members of the public are directed not to approach him and to dial 911 immediately if they see him.

“Anyone with information about Pennington’s] whereabouts is asked to contact the Massachusetts State Police at 508-829-8236 or the Gardner Police Department at 978-632-5600,” said the state police department.
