“It’s OK. I’m going to help you.”
Those are the chilling words uttered by the masked man who murdered four college students in Idaho, according to new revelations present on the probable cause affidavit released by Idaho police.
Released Thursday, the document reveals that one of the two roommates who survived the gruesome slaughter had an encounter with the murderer.
Identified only as “D.M.” in the affidavit, the witness said she stood in “frozen shock” as the murderer moved towards her. After he exited through a rear sliding door, she said she ran and locked herself in her room.
Bryan Kohberger, 28, was eventually arrested for the slayings and made his first court appearance Thursday. His DNA was found on a knife sheath left behind at the scene of the murders by the killer.
Kohberger’s cellphone was also pinged as having been near the students’ home at least 12 times before the November 13 killings and again around five hours after the attack.
Kohberger has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder for the killings of Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen, along with one count of burglary.
He is being held without bail and is under a no-contact order for the surviving victims and the families of all victims involved.
