Road rage is on the rise. We have all experienced some form of road rage, and when people act on their rage, tragedy can result.
Whether it's a motorist refusing to let you change lanes or an aggressive tailgater, road rage comes in many forms. Experts have theorized that we tend to personalize our cars and trucks as if they actually represent us and when someone threatens our vehicle, we often take it personally.
I fail to understand the logic of motorists who are in such a hurry to reach their destination that they tailgate or zip in front of us - but if you gesture to them they seem to suddenly have the time to follow you until you reach a stop where they pull out a gun and shot or engage in a fist fight. How do they have time for that if they are in such a hurry in the first place?
How do you defuse those moments when you feel a sense of rage behind-the-wheel? One listener said he has a squeeze ball that he squeezes when he's feeling rage. Another listener spoke about the loss of common sense on the road.
There are people sitting in a prison cell right now because they failed to control their rage on the road. Think about those people when you feel any rage from the actions of another driver and remember that seeking revenge for what another motorist does - no matter how stupid - is NEVER worth it.
