(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The owner of Chicago bookstore Wicker Park says she is gratified that something she tweeted this week is getting so much attention and support.
It all started back in December when a woman bought about $800 dollars worth of coffee table books on art from Volumes Bookcafe -- and then wanted to return most of them recently. She told the store she had needed them for the way they looked, to stage her home.
Store owner Rebecca George tweeted her frustration, not expecting much of a response.
"And then it just went crazy."

Turns out one of our biggest sales last month was for the person to stage their home for the holidays and now they want to return them all.

Please don't do this to a small business, people. That one sale was a third of our rent.
"It makes me happy that people realize that that's not cool. It makes me happy that people realize the small business is a tough game," she said.
George says she ended up giving the woman store credit.
She said she isn't keen on the idea of people using books as props: "Yeah, they're beautiful. But they're beautiful inside, too."
