Here’s your chance to own autographed Washington Capitals military-themed jerseys and pucks while helping out the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) at the same time.
The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation’s Military Auction presented by LIUNA and benefitting TAPS is now open.
The auction features autographed, Capitals military-themed warm-up jerseys the Caps wore prior to their April 29 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The auction closes Friday, May 7, 2021, at 3 p.m. EST.
Auction proceeds will be used by TAPS to care for the families of America’s fallen heroes. Capitals players Nic Dowd and Nick Jensen recently participated in a virtual reunion with TAPS families who had attended past Capitals and TAPS events. During the call, the families and players discussed military loved ones and hockey.

Since 1994, TAPS has offered support to all those grieving the death of a military loved one through peer-based emotional support, connections with grief and trauma resources, grief seminars and retreats for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, casework assistance, connections to community-based care, online and in-person support groups and the 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline, all at no cost to surviving families.
